2008 LLGA Sportswoman of the Year
“A member who plays the game of golf with integrity and sportsmanship, which is the ability to be honest regarding the rules, to support other players, show only positive emotions, and to be an advocate of the game.”
The first LLGA Sportswoman of the Year will be awarded for 2008 at the annual dinner, to be held in February, 2009. This woman’s name and the year will be on a plaque, to be hung in either the Pro Shop or the course café, for all to see. This award is to continue year after year in recognition of an outstanding member of the LLGA, with their name added to this plaque for years to come. Consideration should be given during the months of April through October, for the LLGA member who meets the following criteria and exemplifies true sportsmanship in the game of golf.

Abides by correct order of play
Helps others look for lost balls
Repairs ball & spike marks on greens
Tends and knows proper placement of flags
Rakes bunkers
Doesn’t throw or bang clubs
Knows proper language
Correct pace of play
A friendly smile
Cast your vote by writing a member’s first and last name and placing in the ballot box throughout the LLGA season. It is located in the bathroom, and will be emptied on a weekly basis, kept until November when a third party will count the ballots and reveal the Sportswoman of the Year at our annual party. You may vote as often as you wish, but please don’t stuff the ballot box. This is not a popularity contest. This is a recognition of a woman who exhibits attributes of sportsmanship in the game we have come to love.
